Port of Fontvieille 2

A quiet corner to recover after the chaos of the Grand Prix. This is part of the harbour in Fontvieille - in the background you can see terraces that house the zoo. I've heard mixed reviews of this zoo and haven't so far plucked up the courage to go. One day...

(Just walked in the door - thanks so much for everyone who has commented whilst I've been away. Will try and catch up over the next few days - now it's wine time after a 10 hour drive and holds up for snow at the Gottard pass in Switzerland!)

  1. Oh, Jilly, I am shocked that you're even considering visiting the zoo...
It certainly goes against everything I stand for!

Will you tell us more about your trip and the show, please?

I wrote that in a rush. I thought of going to the zoo for a look, with a view to complaining. The Born Free lady - Virginia ??? - complains about this zoo. Anyway I couldn't face it. Would keep me awake at night if it's bad and what could I do to put it right, anyway. Of course, it may, by now, be well run. I need to say that.

When we all visited the dog refuge at Flassans, it was awful but at least we did a lot of good there and now the dogs are really well cared for and slowly we are finding them homes.

  4. I knew there had to be some explanation - it did not sound like my "soul sister" ;-)
Yes, places like that would give me nightmares...or worse! I would be planning how to free all the wild animals, and that could be a disaster for everyone concerned!
