Smart

You see Smart cars all over Monaco. A very sensible car, of course, for such a tiny place. They are used in business, as here, or privately owned. Also many of the public transport vehicles in Monaco are electric, as opposed to petrol or diesel. Do you see Smart cars in your city? Do you have electrically run vehicles in your city?

  1. I have seen a Smart car but not in our city. There have been a few electric cars that people built themselves. Great idea, though.

  2. Smart cars were not legal in the U.S. until recently. I found them fascinating when I first encountered them in Europe. I think we will see more of them now that they've overcome the barrier of our Transportation Safety people and emissions tests. A bunch of bureaucracy of course.

  3. I'm looking forward to seeing more of these cars in the states. A favorite view from our trip to France was the Smart dealership in Cannes....it was multi-storied and looked exactly like a Swatch-watch counter display.

  4. I really don't know if they'll take off in the States - it would be intimidating to drive one amidst all those jumbo SUV's ;-)
