Invitation



This sculpture called Invitation, by the Dutch artist and sculptor, Kees Verkade, stands in the Jardin Saint-Martin on Le Rocher. You see many sculptures by this Monaco resident around the Principality and can read more at this link. He specialises in the human form with emphasis on movement and emotion.

    This is a beautiful work of art. I like it a lot. And the bird in the foreground is a reminder that not all things appreciate bronze statues.

    Interesting to discover Monte Carlo through your lens. Don't think to have seen this sculpture at Le Rocher, but I was there a long time ago...

    To be politically correct, I'd say: to a dance...that is if they're in the habit of dancing naked in Monaco ;-)
