Daily Photo Theme Day: A Typical Breakfast

A typical Monte Carlo breakast, at least in this café, Le Royalty, is a cup of coffee and a cigarette. Croissants are available but no one has ordered one. Le Royalty is in rue Princesse Caroline (the pedestrian street of Monte Carlo) opposite the Port.

Today is Daily Photo Theme Day. 99 Daily Photo bloggers from cities all around the world will be presenting their Typical Breakfasts today. Do click on their blogs and enjoy their offerings:

  2. Oh, my...it has been so long since I have had a cigarette with my breakfast. A good thing I quit.

  3. Typical, yes, but do you mind if I go down to Menton for some bread, or maybe an escargot???

  4. Looks like the perfect place for people watching!

  5. Nice legs...
Oh, I'm supposed to be looking at the table.
I can just feel the warmth of the sun. Excellent image

  6. Beautiful breakfast: no danger for diet intentions! Don't drink coffe, don't smoke... The only alternative seems to be people watching... and that looks great here... ;)

  14. That's right Abraham. I think the coffees (noisettes) cost 1.50 each and my friend and I sat there through a couple - or more! - so a 1 euro tip didn't seem excessive.

  15. i like the "leaving legs" on the photo. Such way it has a whole story

  16. This would never last me til 9 a.m.! Do they take a mid-morning break and eat something then?

  17. That's all they aat for breakfast? Hmmm. that's not much. I think a piece of fruit instead of the cigarette would be good, but hey, to each its own, I guess ;)

  18. Not exactly a healthy breakfast...maybe you can tell that I have a preference for Menton!

  22. A streamlined morning intake. Are there two sugar packets per cup? Here, the normal allotment is 1 and I have to beg and plead (all the while looking very ashamed about having such a sweet tooth) for more.

  23. I miss those petit packets of sugar!

  24. You know, I use to love the feel of a good ceramic mug of coffee, but when they came out with those paper cups. A la Starbucks, I have to admit that's how I prefer mine. I was at a meeting at a hotel recently where they had china cups for coffee, and on the side, Starbucks-like paper cups. Only two people were using the china. I think this is the Starbucks effect. Their cafediem comes with a taste of culture. Whereas many are just not use to the authentic culture of the china.

  25. Great shot. The cup of coffee I could go for, the cigarette, not really my cup of tea but to each her/his own.

Thanks for visiting my NorthBayPhoto blog. Sorry to hear that you gave your maple syrup away but I'm sure your Canadian vet was extremely happy to receive it!

  26. Oh no, no cigarette please :-))

  27. Great shot! But that's kinda pre breakfast. Indian breakfast is traditionally heavy though the youth are now changing habits and most of them will not have heavy stuff like parathas for breakfast.
