Monaco has many beautiful gardens, havens of peace amidst the chaos of a busy Principality. Here is a lush corner of the Casino Gardens. Just beyond the greenery is the Metropole Hotel and Shopping Centre, including FNAC. To the right is the Casino. Both literally within a few metres of where we stand.
Lush is the word!
ReplyDeleteThat's what I liked about Paris, too - in the middle of the urban chaos, you would always find a little green square to escape to...
I think I read somewhere that with over 400 parks and gardens, Paris was named the greenest capital city in Europe!
And those green places must be very important to inhabitants, I think, but I am the inhabitant of forests :)
ReplyDeleteMy doggy self wants to roll around on this beautiful greenery. :-) Lovely!
ReplyDeleteGreat garden; but FNAC and Casino?Doesn't seem to make much sense together...
ReplyDeleteGMG, FNAC is on the lowest floor of the Metropole shopping centre - part of the Metropole Hotel complex. It's got restaurants, bars, luxury shopping of every sort and also FNAC where everyone goes to buy anything related to computers, music, books, portable phones, camera, etc. The Casino itself is on another side of the gardens, at a right angle to this side. And on yet another side is the Hotel de Paris.
ReplyDeleteOK. The last time I was there was in February 1982. Don't remember a FNAC then...
ReplyDeleteLush is the prefect titl for this.
ReplyDeleteIsn't the FNAC in a sort of underground shopping center?
It looks like a lovely tropical garden.
