A night out in Monte Carlo - 5

So after champagne in the American Bar of the Hôtel de Paris, we ladies need to go to the loo. Don't worry I'm not going to show you an actual lavatory but here's a corner of the Ladies' Room which I think is quite smart. Actually the most beautiful Ladies Room in Monaco is in the Hôtel Hermitage where they have antique painted porcelain toilet bowls and washbasins. I did hear recently that these had been replaced. I hope not.

You see the sort of things we discuss in Monaco!

  1. This is quite smart.

I sure hope you will sneak into the Hotel Hermitage to confirm whether the rumour is true or false, and of course, come away with the evidence in photo! :-)

  2. If they deserve a photo why not? Years ago I took a photo at toilet in a parking in a very small village in Scotkand because so clean and very well kept like I took another at Changi airport in Singapore the only toilet with Orchid flowers inside...

  4. Brilliant!! I think there is a book to be written about the best bathrooms. I read some time ago (can't remember where) that somewhere in Africa (again can't remember which country) they had restaurant reviews that included a rating of the bathrooms. The restaurant market was booming and the idea was to promote hygiene. I think that is a great idea that should be extended everywhere. I'd give American Bar of the Hôtel de Paris a 10/10, *** in the Michelin and 19.5/20 in the Gault&Millaud!

  5. Nice to see such sophisticated treatment of the loo. Unfortunately, so many of them are not, shall we say, photogenic...
    Thanks,

  6. Since I've never been in a lady's loo, I have to ask this question.

Do ladies actually sit down at these chairs afterwards to chat? Seriously?!?!?
