Wow. There are some beautiful boats on that site Jilly. Seems to be rather competitive in Monaco when all of the boats are in the harbour. I guess if you were a boat-builder or designer, Monaco would be the place to be.
Yachts are usually built at the builders shipyards [Italy, Scandinavia, U.S, Australia, U.K etc...] & just happen to be berthed here by the owners because the Med is the prime area for any yacht - especially if you charter it out during the summer ... Monaco is one of the prime harbours but IYCA along the coast is just as amazing [perhaps even more!] when it comes to enormous yachts.
Is Monaco an illusion? I don't know but it certainly seems a place apart. I do know that I like your photo very much.
