It's always intrigued me how on earth divers could stand having this apparatus encasing them. Surely it would be uncomfortable and HEAVY? Sydney Daily Photo
I can see that you had a difficult decision regarding which photo to use for the "metal" theme day. Both excellent choices.
Thank you for the comment left on my Daily Photo site for Costa Rica. There is a parallel. You today showed metal used for going under the surface of the sea. I showed metal used for going under the surface of the earth.
By the way, I had to set up my mother-in-law with a blogger account just so she could leave an occasional comment on your Riviera Dogs site. She loves it. (And it gives her something to talk about in addition to her own dogs!)
Ah, the days when everyday apparatus and instruments were like art. I, too, have wondered how any diver could move with one of these things. Much less get back above surface!
Hi Jilly, I bet they spend hours polishing it every week. Don't think I'd like to go diving, looks scary.
ReplyDeleteTrust you are well and enjoying the summer.
Best wishes

Like the close up so you can see all the details. I like the cool window best!

Makes a great museum piece...so nice and shiny.

ReplyDeleteLovely up-close-and-personal shot, Jilly. Thanks!
That's a lot of intricate polishing. Great "metal head" shot! ;-) Rock on!
ReplyDeletePretty copper and brass colors on this metal head gear.
ReplyDeleteOh yes, it would have been perfect for yesterday too.
ReplyDeleteI was ready to bet that you took this one au musée d'océanographie! It is beautiful!!
Jilly, that's beautiful!
