A Monte Carlo Summer - the Palm Fronds

If you tire of the beaches, you can always find peace and beauty in one of the many gardens in the Principality. Here we are in the Casino Gardens. These palm fronds entranced me. (Click on the small photo to see the palm)

I believe this is called Erythea Armata, a palm from California and sometimes known as the Blue Palm. If not, I hope the knowledgeable-on-all-things-horticultural, Tog of Coral Gables Daily Photo will correct me.

Would LOVE to lie down on that grass , with a pillow and a good book and dose the day away.

Was Felix the cat Australian?

Your blue palm is a keeper. We are lucky in that Fairchild Tropical Botanical Garden in Coral Gables has one of the three major palm collections of the world. If you go to 'Google image' you can find pages of Erythea Armata. I have two talipot palms and if you 'Google image' it you will see my small palm and a lot of mature ones.
The images that I can find in Google are better then all of the pictures that I can find in my library.

THis is truly a mesmerizing pic. It's impossible to think that such a thing of incredible beauty such as this could exist. What a treat to see this. is it possible to get a pic of this at night with the lights on this tree!?!

In any case that is real treasure to be found in the principality. Few people outside of those whom are located in these areas would every know such a palm could exist in this form.
