September but still very much summer here. No rain for months - don't tell the visitors but we need it for our gardens. Of course when it eventually arrives and doesn't stop, then we'll complain again.
We are in the Casino gardens. He's reading the Financial Times. The lady - no longer young - dresses smartly, conservatively even as befits her age - but don't you just adore the hat? Go girl...
Do I have to dress conservatively when I get to be her age?
ReplyDeleteI'm loving the hat. And wow, Jilly, what a gorgeous shot!
ha-ha - no Laurie you don't!
ReplyDeleteBeautifully pictured!! I also like the magnificent tree!
ReplyDeleteShe looks cool and composed and, indeed, it's a fine hat..Actually I'm a bit envious as hats don't suit me at all: I have a big head and lots of hair!
ReplyDeleteGreat hat. I wish I could wear hats, but I always think I look silly.
ReplyDeleteOh a great portrait of these two. She looks so happy to just be there in the shade. I'll bet that's her son. Just lovely.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like the tree provides as much shade as the hat. It's a wonderfully restful scene.
ReplyDeleteThe hat, the tree....oh my.
ReplyDeleteI was also more attracted by the tree than by the hat. It's ginormous!
ReplyDeleteI'm not too fond of hats, but this one is ok. It's pretty simple and understated. I've seen some numbers at French weddings before. :s
The hat is truly a wonderful touch! Very pretty.
ReplyDeletewhaaaat a mah-velous hat! truly. Can be pictured on anyone of most any age whom wants to be stylish don't you think?
ReplyDeleteCan't you imagine thaaaat hat with a beautiful floraled halter or strapless with the new summer jackets?
h-mmm for those of us with lots of hair hats don't usually bode well with us or if you don't "feel" you have the face shape for it. Take heart it's probably just a personal opinion.
So, owning one of those haaats with a gorgeous dress would probably be spectacular even if you only carry the hat instead of wearing all the time you see?
Although hats are not something considerable. this hat would be a splurger or perhaps something along lines of a floral hairpin? Are those in style this season? (wistful sigh)
this is a beautiful shot. there are simply so many gorgeous places in Monaco that a picture of small dimensions really doesn't seem to be enough don't you think?
