Eze Village - the Altar

The altar of the church we saw yesterday. Such lovely soft colours, don't you think - and lovely old wooden pews.

Oh thank you for letting us go inside. How absolutely gorgeous. I need to stay a few minutes and take it all in. question: the walls. Is that a trompe l'oeil finish or marble? The columns appear to be marble but the walls and ceiling?? Amazing.

I agree, the colors are perfectly balanced, as is your photo.

Virginia, some of the church is marble and some trompe l'oeil - so so I believe. I was surprised no one stopped me taking photographs and also that the light inside was so good so I do plan on going back and taking more. (I have a few more interior photos already and will publish those after the 'lunch' series).

And Laurie, yes, but I simply put the camera on the floor and set the self-timer. Another time I'd aim the camera slightly higher to take in more of the ceiling. Chuckeroon from Richmond upon Thames DP taught me this trick. Really works well in churches.
