I want to throw a question, Obama is going to be really a change? Let us not forget that the Americans are American, and his idea of homeland and protecting the homeland do not think that will change. I do not think it will withdraw troops from Iraq in 16 months as he said, nor lower taxes so big he proposed in his country. The Americans are like that. I am a little skeptical.
Merci Jilly for your positive comments today. Yes we CAN as long as people around the world are willing to work with our new president. He CANNOT do it alone.
Tanya: I did not want to say anything against the Americans citizen, of course. The same thing happens in Spain. Politicians do not represent us. We hope to give our politicians, but the only thing they want is to get power. I apologize if any American citizen has felt offended. My comment was addressed to the political class. For politicians who promise much in campaign, but then they forget the voters.
Thank you for the glorious stone eagle, symbol of my country. We Americans have much to live down now, and so much work to do. Obama never minced words on the campaign trail about the work yet to be done. He won the election as a Democrat, but he has always been much more than a politician. He is a leader and will show, by example, how change is, indeed, possible.
It's a lovely post as is your other one for Menton. Too bad that politics can engender so much cynicism and anger. T'would be nice if we all worked for peace, around the world and among us. Let's hope.

They did it! A gracious concession speech, a fantastic acceptance speech.

To the above poster, POLITICIANS are like that, not AMERICANS. Americans as a whole are not bad people. We are not like our government.
A beautiful photo. Hope the change will be good world wide :)
