The idea was to show you the two great ladies who do the Face Painting at the Kermesse, but unfortunately, the pics are useless as I'd not used the flash. Next year!
On the other hand, here is one of the little girls who'd just been painted.
Isn't it hard sometimes to decide which is the better of two photographs? I really couldn't choose between these two. In the smaller one, she is more relaxed and natural - yet there is an enthusiasm I like in the first one. Which do you prefer?
She is so cute! I love face painting, and so do my nieces :D
ReplyDeleteI agree that she's more relaxed in the smaller photo, but I actually like the first one better because of that teeth-clamped-down-grin. We have a word to describe it — gigil — but I have no idea how to translate it.
Both are cute and I think for the same reason Hilda mentioned.
ReplyDeleteFace painting seems a universal thing. MB
Oh, Jilly! It is impossible to choose. She is a perfect picture of how simple pleasures delight children. When do we lose that trait or do we just need to recultivate it now and then. In 15 days, sun, sand, and surf will definitely delight me in Mazatlan.
ReplyDeleteCan I have the same, please?
ReplyDeleteBoth are adorable!
ReplyDeleteI prefer the second one.
ReplyDeleteI like the butterfly face-painting. When I worked for Disney, we often went on volunteer trips to children's hospitals and the like. I was the worst face-painter. I really admire those who are able to do it!
Definitely the first one, so full of life and excitement
ReplyDeleteI am for the second. Love the relaxed smile. My grandchildren are at that age and the "grin" is oft the norm. I try and catch them without it! Jilly you did a great job on both. Hope my girls are behavin'!

The face paintings are beautiful in both pics! what kind of paint are they using?? is it food grade paint or make-up type paint. in either case it's beautiful. Could someone explain whaaat is the kermesse?
ReplyDeleteAnon, a kermesse is a charity bazaar. This one is in aid of several Monte Carlo charities - all the various churches of different religions.
