To get to
le rocher (the rock) you park in the car park
cut deep into the rock way below. Then you take an escalator and then a lift (elevator). When you leave the lift, you can then take another escalator or walk up this pretty pathway which leads to the beautiful
Musée Océanographique above
. An attractive way to exit a carpark, I think you'll agree.
Today, being the 1st of the month, it's Theme Day on City Daily Photo (Paths & Passages) and as always there will be a myriad of wonders to see on blogs throughout the world.

This pic is particulary interesting the beatiful stone work and the beautiful stone of the edifice itself if fabulous. we love the oceanographic musee the beautiful floor to ceiling aquariums all lit up make a truly awe-inspiring picture. in real life it's equally as captivating.
ReplyDeleteWhenever I visit here, I feel so much at home! My soul stirs. Thank you for your beautiful photos!
ReplyDeleteThe detail of the rock is striking. I will get Gray to fill me in geologically. I like the idea of cutting into rocks. always so cool in temperature.
ReplyDeleteInteresting, a path way to a car park ... Actually it sounds very beautiful.
ReplyDeleteSo interesting and beautiful! You show us so many amazing things that are unlike anything I see at home.
ReplyDeleteAs far as I can tell, every path and every passage in Monte Carlos is exquisite. ANother example today.

I'm so glad about those escalators and lifts....otherwise I might be puffing along behind the ever-exuberant Jilly!!
ReplyDeleteNow that would be a pretty path to walk. (but I'll take the elevator and escalator till I get there.)
ReplyDeleteYour blogs gave me the idea for the theme, and you came through with a real beauty here!
ReplyDeleteLovely path!
ReplyDeleteElevators and escalators and wonderful pathways to move around the town. Exciting. MB
ReplyDeleteYou described many different forms of passage for just this one post!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely choice, Jilly. That stonework, the rock and the path, is so lovely. I'm not sure I've ever been up here. I usually take the escalator but will look out for it..
ReplyDeleteThe doorway in the middle adds extra fascination for me....
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful photo!
ReplyDeleteIs it me or are you have became an even better photographer?
great picture!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeletelove your blog!!!!!!!!!
Sounds like many choices to get to the top. The path looks the most interesting.
ReplyDeleteBecause we stayed in the Marriott Hotel next to Fontveille, we walked up to the Rock each day via the path overlooking Monte Carlo harbor. I was unaware of the path you showed today and the way of getting into town by parking under ground and exiting near the acquarium. Thank you for another delightful and informative post.
ReplyDeleteThats a nice looking path.
ReplyDeleteAnother romantic, mysterious, beautiful old path. You've shown us so many gorgeous twists and turns in the last few months! This is lovely.
ReplyDeleteInteresting looking pathway.
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty pathway. It is too tempting.
ReplyDeleteInteresting path!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful stone work. I love the red brick in the center. I notice the trough in the center of the path, is there a lot of heavy rain there?
ReplyDeleteIf the exterior of these buildings is this interesting, the interiors must be fabulous. I wish we had some hille here. It's pretty flat in this part of the world.
ReplyDeleteWonderful image. Worth all the effort of elevators, etc. I love how the bricks and rocks work together in such an interesting design. I would like to go to that musee as well.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for everyone for comments. Clueless in Boston, there's a drain coming out of the left hand side of that raised step so presumably rainwater runs towards us, as it were. Sometimes it does rain heavily here.
ReplyDeleteGreat choice for the theme day. Every stone and brick looks so carefully placed.
ReplyDeleteStriking. Great choice, especially with your description!
ReplyDeleteExcellent choice for the theme day. I'm sure Monaco is filled with paths and passageways worthy of your lens. I especially like the brickwork on this one. It just gives it that extra flair!
ReplyDeleteWish every park exit was similar..
ReplyDeleteIt's a must to walk by!!
