this is a great way to come out of the grotto. I love the blue sky and water and interesting cactus that greets you. In answer to your question about the bougainvilleas on my site, yes, I think Frank Lloyd Wright and his students planned them to be planted right next to the somewhat shaded walkway to provide that dramatic angled look. There are a lot of these angled looks at Wright's Taliesin West.
