Jardin Exotique - Crested Saguaro

This weird looking plant is called a Crested Saguaro. However, to see an amazing version of this plant, complete with holes for the birds that nest in it (!) we need to go all the way to Arizona. Click on Julie's Scottsdale Daily Photo for a great photo and information on the plant too.

I love the patterns and textures in this plant. It's a great closeup too.

You have shown the complexity of the crested saguaro quite well.

Do they call it a saguaro in France? I wonder if they pronounce it the same. In Arizona, it is pronounced as though it were "suWARo."

Marie-NOyale, yes I keep thinking i must turn on the moderation. So annoying.

Dave - no idea how it's pronounced. I wouldn't even have known the name but for Julie's blog.

I taught a unit on the saguaro every year. Cactus hotel it's called because of all the different species that make their home in it when it's alive and after it dies.
Your reader is right. It is pronounced sawaro.

Lovely capture of this unusual cactus formation.
