Theme Day: 'Big' - a Cruise Ship in Villefranche

Copyright 2009 Monte Carlo Daily Photo. All rights reserved.

A cruise ship in the bay of Villefranche dwarfs the coastline. Villefranche-sur-Mer is just along the coast from Monaco and not far from Nice. I was in a small boat so it was easy to get up close and personal.

Once again it's Theme Day and to find out how other CDP bloggers around the world are interpreting the 'big' theme, please click here to view thumbnails for all participants.

Would have been even more impressive had you told us that this was a private yacht but sure that's BIG - as SOOOO Monte Carlo !
Well done Jilly - and what fun it must have been being in that small boat. I'm sure we'll see other shots taken from the water?

Nathalie, I plan on posting photos of the boat trip from Menton to Cap Ferrat and Villefranche. Soon.

I know this boat, but I have seen her only inside the harbour. She's big indeed...

I seldom think of cruise ships when I think of watercrafts, but I find them very impressive and BIG!! Never felt like I wanted to go on a cruise until recently when so many friends have recommended them. I find them fascinating; you certainly showed their BIGNESS!!

Great choice for the BIG theme day. I prefer small cruise ships, but Denton is right. They keep getting bigger. I was even on a Norwegian Cruise Line ship that had been expanded by cutting it in two and inserting a section in the middle to add capacity for another 800 or so guests. An amazing feat of marine engineering and construction done in Germany.

Excellent for BIG theme, it looks sumptuous, huge and almost indestructible, perfect for a short trip. Greetings from MC.

I don't think too many things are bigger than a cruise ship. Nice one for theme day.
