This is the Lanvin shop in Casino Square. The casino itself and a couple crossing the square are reflected in the glass.
The smaller photo is the original - before cropping. Which do you prefer or do you not care for either? I won't be offended! I'm really not sure if this works or not.
To me ( or perhaps it is "for me" in English?) Anyway, the cropped version is what I like best. Creative display in the window, and I like that you managed to include the people walking, in your shot!
Both photos are great - I like the bottom one because of the hands but finally I prefer the top, cropped one better! The couple reflected in your photo don't shop at Lanvin!
Hi Jilly. For me they do different things: if the couple weren't in the picture, then the uncropped version (leg on the left, hands emerging from boxes on the right) would be an excellent juxtaposition. But with the people, it's better in the cropped version - the living and the not-quite-living.
Ok this time I do have an opinion. Top is best BUT I love when you show us another view and I like the extra shot so I can see the whole window display. The French have absolutely cornered the market on window displays. Absolutely the most creative any where!! V
The cropped version works best for me. Possibly if the couple were facing you, then the picture would look even better. It's so difficult trying to take decent photos of shop windows, especially when its sunny.

I prefer the cropped photo, too. It gives less information, so it´s easy to concentrate on what you see. Helps you to be more focused.
ReplyDeleteI just came back from a weekend in Monaco, and thanks to your blog I got a lot of tips for my stay. Thank you!
I also like the cropped much better. I like the verticle lines that it loses in the uncropped.

ReplyDeleteI like the top one the best. I'm not sure I can explain why. It just appeals to me more.
