Time for another dishy Monte Carlo gentleman for us females. He's standing outside the Chanel shop which is currently having its window displays changed.
And he's carrying a bag from FNAC which is where I yesterday bought my new camera...a Pansonic Lumix GH1 which is a 'micro four thirds' camera with a 14-140 lens. It looks dead sexy to me which must say something when I'm getting more excited about a camera than a Monte Carlo gentleman. Oh dear...
Hey Jilly, it seems like we are following each other with cameras, as I got a G1 in September. Also got the 45-200mm lens. The best thing is the tilting screen. Really useful for those tricky shots.
ReplyDeleteJilly,
ReplyDeleteI’ve heard the 14-140 is fantastic for HD video. I’m sure it does a wonderful job on photos also. I’ll be looking forward to seeing your future photos with the GH1.
Btw Mr. MC is wearing a nice blazer. What is the strap over his shoulder??
How funny, Gailsman - we are indeed following each other with cameras. Hope you are happy with yours. Those lens are not cheap!
ReplyDeleteDrew, I didn't actually want the video but if I bought the G1 and a separate lens, the price was the same, so thought I might as well get the one that includes video.
ReplyDeleteThe shops try to sell the GF1 but I didn't like the feel of it in my hand one bit.
Strap looks like it supports a camera or computer bag, I'd think, hidden by his body.
He seems like a cool dude - texting on his phone and carrying a finac bag! I'm just not so sure about his boots?
ReplyDeleteOh, Jilly! I'm green with envy...not because of the gentleman, but a new camera!! Your priorities are right on. The camera will probably do more for you than that sexy stranger! Well, on the other hand...
ReplyDeleteForgive me, but I think cameras are more faithful than most of the Frenchmen I dated when I lived in France! :)
ReplyDeleteThis guy IS cute, though.
WEll I"m torn between Monsieur and your new camera as well! :) How funny I recognized the FNAC bag!
ReplyDeleteNow I am not familiar with your camera Jilly but it SOUNDS great. I think you'll like that lens a lot. When I came home from Paris this summer I bought a 15-200mm lens. I was tired of Peter and everyone else getting the longer shots that my lens couldn't get! Now I'm loving it. It's very heavy but I guess i've gotten use to lugging it around.

Oh and one more thing. Do you shoot in Manual or Automatic most of the time? Just curious. Whatever you do, your photographs are wonderful!

Virginia the reason i got the micro 4/3 is because of the weight - or rather lack of it. Even with the 14-140 it's light enough for me. I shoot mostly on the P setting, use some other settings, like Pets for dogs. I've not used the new camera yet. Still in its box. I'm working up to it....
ReplyDeleteThanks for kind comments, as always.
Can I have the camera and the man?
ReplyDelete;-)
ReplyDeleteIn my mind Monte Carlo has many "luscious" qualities...gorgeous, stylish women, incredible cars, a breathtaking harbor and super fine shops. Men? They have men other than race drivers?
ReplyDeleteYour new camera is one of the very best for the money. Lumix is all I use and have never been happier. That lens will get in close for portraits, etc. and also give you plenty of wide-angle for street scenes. Good luck.
Love your blog!
Oh, I like monsieur, forget about the camera! Great, great shot Jilly. I know what you mean about working up to the camera, though. Every time I get something new for my camera I'm so excited I don't know what to do. Can't wait to see the results with your new toy.
