The 'balaneion', is a private bathroom found in luxury houses in ancient Greece. This is made of Carrera tiger marble.It was customary for ancient Greeks to relax in such rooms before their evening meal.

The lighting and ceiling of the alcove are spectacular.
I wonder how I could get a bathroom like that . . . . .
They really knew how to live. I wonder how many people it took to keep things running smoothly, a lot I'll wager.
Well if I'd reclined in that tub, I'd not be able to get up for the evening meal!
