Snow in Monte Carlo! Such a rare occurrence and what luck that my friend, Maggie Calkins, a professional photographer who lives in Monaco, whizzed out to Casino Square after midnight last night and took these great shots.
In fact, we get a double whammy - snow and part of the ever-changing light show in Casino Square.
Thanks Maggie so much for permission to publish these.
Meanwhile, I'm
snowed in at Gorbio, just above Menton. Click on the link to take a look.
Magical to see the snow slanting in like this, Jilly.
ReplyDeleteI already wanted to ask you if there was a Christmas tree on Casino Square... Now I see that it's full of Christmas trees! :-)) Very nice!
ReplyDeleteChristmas trees and "purple rain"...
Thanks for showing us!

These are magical, fantastic, snowy photos! The Christmas trees are lovely with the different colored lights shining on them! Bravo! Merry Christmas in advance!
ReplyDeleteWow! I didn't know you ever got snow. These are beautiful photos!
ReplyDeletePhotos of a true white Christmas. Beautiful and exciting!
ReplyDeleteThis is magical. This must be the same weather system that snowed in Paris, which they showed on the news. Julie and I were in Paris once when it snowed and it was just delightful. I assume that the snow did not remain in Monaco for long, and that it never stuck to the streets to mess up driving.
ReplyDeleteDare I utter the words Disney World? HA IT's like an enchanted castle. How spectacular. Thanks to your friend for sharing with us. Now to go see your house. What on earth do the dogs think??

ReplyDeleteMany thanks to Maggie for taking these pictures!!
ReplyDeleteWow indeed!
Wow, I'm glad your friend let you share these photos. They are truly magical. If this doesn't put you in a holiday spirit, nothing will.
ReplyDeleteThanks Maggie and Jilly for showing these magical colours to us!
ReplyDeleteSo wonderful with the added ambiance of snow!
ReplyDeleteI hope the snowflakes got permission from the prince to be allowed to settle in MC!
ReplyDeleteAt least we're getting a bit now. The rest of the country has had lots, but Nottingham appears to have missed out.
When I moved to the cote d'azur, I had to remind myself that the narrow, steep, winding roads weren't as treacherous as they seemed because it didn't snow there . . . and then there was a huge snowstorm, which made the Riviera look more like a ski village as everyone dressed for the snow.
ReplyDeleteMaggie's images brought back my memories of that freak snowstorm, two decades ago, and made me smile. Merci bien.
