This lady walked from shop to shop, then posed outside each one, whilst her husband took her photograph. I think he was keener on this than she was. Here she stands outside the Lanvin shop in Casino Square.
good eye as always to capture this but what a weird scenario for this couple's ritual of a photo per store. do they really show each one to family and friends when they return home form the trip. Now the question is did the wife buy something at each store she posed in front of for her husband. that might make a more memorable photo experience.
Ok this is something that has fascinated me for a long time when traveling. I guess I look at a place with a different eye, but what exactly is the point of having your photograph taken in front of everything you saw on your trip??? The people in the Louvre posing in front of the Mona Lisa, or in front of the Medici Fountain etc make me want to scream. I'm with Julie and Nathalie. When you get home what do you do with all these? The only thing I've ever been able to come up with is that it's proof you saw it!
Being the cynical type (or maybe I've seen too many movies), perhaps the husband was taking photos not of the little woman, but of the stores themselves as a way of determining which might be ripe for robbing.

ReplyDeleteShe looks the part! I bet she'd get good service and attention inside the Lanvin shop!
ReplyDeleteMy comment would be similar to Julie's.
ReplyDeleteGreat pic, amazing story... and waiting for the epilogue ! Did she finally enter one of the stores?
Do you also have a photo of the photographer photographing his wife?
ReplyDeleteI didn't see her enter any of the stores, Nathalie and right, I should have photographed the photographer taking a pic of his wife.

ReplyDeleteI do love her hair and her coat though! HA

ReplyDeleteOr maybe they have a shop at home and he was getting ideas for window displays...
ReplyDeleteShe is certainly an attractive woman. Perhaps the guy simply is in love with her.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure you've posted a very similar image to this earlier in the year. I just remember the strange assortment of props in the window.
ReplyDeleteWell spotted, Gail's Man. I posted the same shop with a couple walking thru the reflection.
