We're standing on
le rocher near the Palace and looking down on the small and peaceful harbour of Fontvieille. All the buildings you see are built on land that once was sea. Quite incredible, don't you think? You can see the four points of the circus tent and beyond we see tall buildings - all are luxurious apartments. Beyond those buildings is Cap d'Ail, which is in France.
Wow -there are trees on the roofs!
ReplyDeleteUnbelievable how many luxurious apartments there are......
Sooooo Monaco! :)
Very dramatic perspective. I love that I can see the water in the foreground and in the background.
ReplyDeleteYes, I remember!! We saw it when we met with you!!Great perspective.
ReplyDelete«Louis» wonders if there are stability problems with the tall buildings built on the landfill.
ReplyDeleteBe that as it may, lovely image - as Saretta wrote, water in the foreground, water in the background.
A fine view over paradise and some fantastic, high end yachts!
ReplyDeleteWe are starting to look a lot like you.
ReplyDeleteOh yes, I've stood on that rock and looked down on that view. Great memories. Your photo is great, they light is excellent. The housing density is amazing.
ReplyDeleteMaria, yes trees and gardens on the roofs. Also the Princess Grace Rose Garden is in the middle of it all.
ReplyDeleteDiederick, yes I remember your visit with the greatest pleasure and look forward to the next one.
Louis la Vache. I'd not worry. They knew what they were doing when they built Fontvieille.
This is a wonderful view!
ReplyDeleteFabulous view.
