A trompe l'oeil artist has taken a break from his creation on the side wall of a building opposite the Palace. Looks like it's going to be really good, doesn't it?
The narrow street is called
rue du Comte Felix Gastald. He was a descendant of one of the oldest families installed in Monaco before the XIIIth century.
Comte Felix built the
Chapel Saint-Laurent which was replaced in 1883 by the
Eglise Saint-Charles.
Yes, I think this artwork will be good. I am, however, puzzled at the cracks on the adjacent building. It seems odd in classy Monte Carlo.....
ReplyDeleteWe're in the old part of Monaco - Monaco-Ville which is le rocher. I imagine all these facades are being repaired.
ReplyDeleteLove to see it when finished.
ReplyDeleteI am fascinated by trompe l'oeil ! I am sure it is difficult if done really well. Let us see the finished piece!

It's got a good 3D feel to it. Will you be popping over to see it when they have finished it?
