Top Marques - Trying it on for Size: the Gumpert Apollo

Here's the Gumpert Apollo which this gentleman is trying on for size. This is what the catalogue has to say:

'The GUMPERT Sportwagenmanufaktur GmbH is a manufacturer of exclusive super sports cars based in Germany. In 2001 there was a vision of a new super sports car: A car, which combined the highest dynamics with unmatched driving capabilities. A street-legal car, ready for the race track: the Gumpert apollo.

The apollo provides superior driving abilities beyond all imagination: 650 bhp, up to 224 mph (360 km/h) maximum speed and a breathtaking acceleration from 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) in just 3 seconds. This super sports car offers unlimited fun on the road and serious competition in motor sports. A weapon on four wheels.'

  1. Don't mean to be blasphemous, but it reminds me of the "Back to the Future" DeLorean...

  7. I absolutely agree with Eleonora! Where is Michael J. Fox? Why would anyone want to go 0-62 mph in 3 seconds? Must be a guy thing!

  9. I notice it didn't list a price. I bet the price is as astonishing as the speed.

  10. If someone can afford to buy this the could also wipe out the Grecian national debt -:)

  11. The price is 300,000 euros. Apparently when Top Gear tested this car it was the faster super car they'd ever had on the program!

  12. The front end looks a bit like a Ferrari, while the back is pure Lamborghini. As others have said, the middle belongs on a DeLorian.

See there's a Fiat 500 in the background. I have one in black. Did you take ant photos of it?

  13. Totally agree with Eleonora. BTW Jilly, don't forget that my Bugatti Veyron 16.4 go about 400Km/h fast and needs 2.5 sec from 0 to 100 Km/h :-P

  14. Gail's Man, yes I did take a shot of it and will put it on soon.

Fabrizio, ah yes, I think Top Gear must have tested that AFTER the apollo - and before you bought it! Or was that yours I photographed in Casino Square one time? The Veyron wasn't at Top Marques, by the way.
