The freak waves of two days ago have done a ton of damage along the coast. 10 metre (33 feet) high waves between Cannes and Nice. Click HERE to view the waves and damage in Monaco.
WOW! Oh Jilly, this is a great shot. I learned about a "vernissage" from Peter's blog last year. Now I understand! So sorry to hear about your wild weather. Hope all is calm now.
Not been down since the storm but think I'd have read about it in Nice-Matin if there was lasting damage. Bad in Menton but within a couple of days the diggers had sorted the beach and the restaurants were getting back to normal again. Mostly they lost beach chairs to the sea and perhaps the Larvotto Beach restaurants did much the same. It was worse further along the coast between Nice and Cannes.

Is La Note Bleue OK? Hope Larvotto beach hasn't been hammered too bad.

Aaah ok thanks - I had visions of carnage but it seems altogether not as bad as those videos looked. Good!
