After the Party...

We're at the Hermitage Hotel on the Grande Corniche in Eze. Our long lazy lunch is over. Each year a group of us - around 20 - British, Irish, Australian, French, Italian, American, Scandinavian, South African - get together for a Christmas lunch. Normally we choose a different restaurant each year but last year we came here and loved it so we are back! Super environment, ambiance, food, service and a crowd of friends who have created our own 'family' in the south of France.

  1. Looks like an elegant and warm place to enjoy a party with friends! Sounds like the United Nations! Are you American?
CDP blogger Kate and I met for coffee and blog talk yesterday! Were your ears ringing?

  2. I stayed at l'Hermitage the last time I was in Monaco. It is a nice hotel with a great spa.

  3. My wife and I also stayed here earlier this year and spent a lovely long weekend in Eze and Monaco. In fact you can see the balcony of the room we had in the background of your photo. Had a lovely time. We were having breakfast one morning and a group of ex-pat ladies who had been jogging around the national park (presumably) came in for a bite, perhaps you were in is group? A lovely restaurant with interesting decor, great food and wine, and very friendly service. The rooms are great too, thoroughly recommend it.

  4. Nadedge, the Hermitage you stayed at is in Monaco. This is the Hermitage in Eze on the Grande Corniche. Quite different but both are fabulous in their own way.

Anon, no not me jogging around the national park! In any case I live in Gorbio, which is near to Menton. Glad you enjoyed the place. One of our group is cousin to the owner, hence our choosing this place and hopefully we'll be back there next year.
