Fooling the Eye...

Trompe l'oeil on le rocher. False window, false bougainvillea...

At the base of this wall is a restaurant's outdoor seating.

  2. Wuhoo! Love this ... must be two different down-pipes though. What a good use of space and covering for a down-pipe. I remember Nathalie showed one a couple of years ago and I hunted over Avignon until I found it. Quite a thrill.

  3. Same downpipe, Julie. You can see the bend in it in top photo and also bottom. Just taken from different angles.

  4. Good way of disguising a pipe. And the flowers last forever.

  5. Yep, can see that now. I was looking at the shutters more than anything.

PS Have you realized that I am here now nearly as much as Menton. Whatever you have done ... has had an effect at least for this visitor.

  6. Julie, gosh yes, I'd not realised but of course you are. Well that's a great compliment. I think a lot of people think of Monaco in that it's a lot of luxury and OTT people but there is so much more.

  7. Julie - sorry, too early in the morning and I should read through my bad English - that's what comes of changing my mind half way through a sentence.

  10. The flowers are beautiful! At first I didn't even notice that the window was also a painting, but it's the perfect addition to finish the scene.
