In this area of the Oceanographic Museum, you find stuffed fish, a polar bear, replicas of ships, a walrus, even a mermaid (albeit a mock-up!) and all in an environment resplendent with beautiful chandeliers. You'll also find some of the 450 decorated shells, part of the Ginestet collection acquired by the museum in 1992.
Tomorrow: the Fish! And Monte Carlo Daily Photo's 5th birthday!
Where is that "original" submarine? Did you see it? I loved taking pictures of it for my 12-year old last summer. There is so much to look at inside that building. Veronique (French Girl in Seattle)
ReplyDeleteIt's outside - Cousteau's submarine. I didn't photograph it this time but I've done so in the past. Must hunt a photo but it's usually - read always - in the shade and not so easy to get an interesting shot.
ReplyDeletethe chandelier setting is indeed splendid - Happy Birthday for tomorrow...
ReplyDeleteIf I was a stuffed fish I'd be very happy being in such a grand building along with the chandeliers.
ReplyDeleteWow, love the chandeliers and the beautiful floors!
