Marc Quinn at the Oceanographic Museum - Kate Moss
Marc Quinn has created several sculptures of British supermodel, Kate Moss in contorted yoga poses. "Microcosmos (Siren)" was made in 2008. A duplicate, made out of ten kilograms of 18-carat gold sold at Sotheby's for $900,000.
There is something unnatural about this shape, just as the shape of some supermodels is not natural. People come in a variety sizes and shapes, which should be just fine for everyone.

ReplyDeleteI don't know :)
ReplyDeleteIt certainly is a fine job of sculpting, but it is a bit unattractive to me.
Where else would you find this bot Monte Carlo and perhaps Los Angeles? Super models doing the impossible.
ReplyDeleteYes, as noted by the all male cast that responded to this sculpture. We men don't approve-Leo
ReplyDeleteThat is kinda cool.
