Of course there are downsides to living in a medieval village. Everything you buy has to be lugged up the narrow streets by hand or on a trolley.

The inconveniences of a medieval village are real, but it would be a rare treat to stay or live in such a place. It is sort of analogous to the people who live in Venice, which sadly is a shrinking number.
FedEx and old European villages are a challenging combination. Everything here was made for automobiles, of course.
