Anyone know the name of this tree? The leaves that would indicate - perhaps? - a type of acacia, but note the seedpods and those white pom-poms. It's in the gardens of Fontvieille, not far from the Princess Grace Rose Garden.

These mimosa trees grow wild here on the Gulf Coast of Texas, and we're constantly having to sweep up the tons of seed pods they produce. Once one gets started, it can easily grow to 20-30 feet high in just a few years. The white pom-poms are nice but not worth the trouble of the seed pods all over your yard.
