The Bull's Sore Leg

Ooops! Looks like the bull in the carousel in the children's playground in Fontvieille won't be going far!

The Pom-Pom Tree?

Anyone know the name of this tree? The leaves that would indicate - perhaps? -  a type of acacia, but note the seedpods and those white pom-poms. It's in the gardens of Fontvieille, not far from the Princess Grace Rose Garden.

Just a Duck ...

Parc Paysager de Fontvieille.   Just a duck on a rock ... but do look at the wonder of those feathers.

A Garden at Night

You always feel safe in Monaco, so it's a pleasure to walk at night in the gardens, pass over this small bridge and see the ducks and geese asleep on rocks below.

Goosey, Goosey, Gander - Part 2

Here's yesterday's fine gander with his two females and a lady who feeds them every day.  Presumbaly none of them has read the sign (see smaller photo) that says no feeding of animals or birds!

Seems to me both the birds and the lady get a lot of pleasure out of this daily ritual.

Goosey, Goosey, Gander

This rather fine gander lives with his two females in the Parc Paysager de Fontvieille.

I thought he might be a Canada Goose but think they have black necks and brown colouring.  I did ask him and he said he is a Monte Carlo Goose but I think he's lying ...

Anyone know?

Universal Rights of the Child Fountain - Maschio

This fountain, whch stands for the Universal Right of the Child, stands opposite the children's play area in the Parc Paysager de Fontvieille. It was created by Franco Maschio in 2000.  The base of the fountain is filled with pebbles signed by celebrated artists whose work can be found in Monaco.

Light Refraction

This fountain is in the middle of the pond at the Parc Paysager de Fontvieille. See the colours to the left - almost rainbow colours caused no doubt by some light refraction I don't understand.

Botero's Fat Foot

Maybe we can put our feet up for the weekend?  This foot is from Botero's wonderful Woman Smoking a Cigarette which you'll find in the Park Paysager de Fontvieille.

Pristine!

Monaco is clean! Everywhere is pristine and here's one of the reasons. This guy is pressure cleaning the pathways in the Parc Paysager de Fontvieille, very near to the Princess Grace Rose Garden.

Sweeping up Botero's Ash

Fernando Botero created his wonderfully voluptuous 'Woman Smoking a Cigarette' in 1987. She endlessly smokes her cigarette in the Parc Paysager de Fontvieille.

Do you suppose the man in the smaller photo is sweeping up her ash?

Wrapped up for Winter

Many of the trees and shrubs, despite blue skies and sunshine, are wrapped up for winter but then it's still chilly at night. These are in the Parc Paysager de Fontvieille, near the Circus tent.
