The Carpenter and the Traffic Warden
It always amuses me when guys, seeing me taking photographs, suddenly go into 'pose mode.'
After I took yesterday's shot, I turned around to get a shot of the other end of Rue Princesse Caroline and there were these two smiling guys, waving their arms about.
On the left is Josef, who is a carpenter at the Monte Carlo Bay Hotel and on the right is Christophe who works in traffic control and code violations in Monaco, so of course there were jokes about where I park my car.
Thanks guys for a fun encounter!

Top Marques - the Bentley Salesman
Today I promised something for the ladies...so how about the beautiful Bentley you see below.
Oh, did you think I meant this seriously delicious gentleman? Well of course I did! Meet Stephane who is a salesman at Bentley Motors in Monaco. Frankly, he could sell me a Bentley any day! Pity I don't have the 250,000 to 350,000 euro price tag.

One for the Girls!
Time for another dishy Monte Carlo gentleman for us females. He's standing outside the Chanel shop which is currently having its window displays changed.
And he's carrying a bag from FNAC which is where I yesterday bought my new camera...a Pansonic Lumix GH1 which is a 'micro four thirds' camera with a 14-140 lens. It looks dead sexy to me which must say something when I'm getting more excited about a camera than a Monte Carlo gentleman. Oh dear...

Monte Carlo Gentleman - a Certain Style
Copyright 2009 Monte Carlo Daily Photo. All rights reserved.
A Monte Carlo gentleman, deep in thought and smoking a cigarette in the Casino Gardens. Note the cashmere coat, smart tie, those fine socks, the hat. Conventional, yet stylish and expensive clothes, such as one would expect to see on an older gentleman in Monaco.

The White Glove
Meet Maurice. He's the Captain of Parking at the HĂŽtel de Paris in Monte Carlo - he's the one to see when you drive up in your Rolls Royce Corniche.
I asked if I could take his photograph and he immediately went into an 'I'm being photographed' mode. I took one - the smaller photograph - and showed it to him, saying, 'It's good.' 'It's for me to say if it's good,' he said and took a look. 'Take another,' he said and put on one white glove. We both laughed. I took another - and then a third.
Great guy, Maurice.
In the reflection you can see the beautiful roof of the hotel's atrium and in the small photograph, one the chandeliers.

Monte Carlo Gentlemen - 9
Whilst Monsieur Benaut was snapping ladies the other day, I snapped this gentleman. I hadn't realised his face would be lit from underneath - from the bar. Do you like it or not?
He and the gentleman next to him - so deep in thought, aren't they? - their faces almost blank. Wonder what they are thinking as they sit at this lunch counter at the Metropole Centre?

Monte Carlo Gentleman - 8
Walk through the beautiful Casino gardens. Find a bench. Read a newspaper. I couldn't resist photographing this good looking guy.

A Monte Carlo Summer - the Conversation
It's just gone 8 in the morning. These two guys are sitting, deep in conversation, at La Note Bleue, which is a jazz lounge, beach restaurant on Larvotto Beach.

Monte Carlo Gentlemen - 7
This was taken in Casino Square. The traffic was snarled up and this man was chatting to the doorman of the Casino - they obviously knew each other. This Monte Carlo Gentleman is a gardener - as per the sign on his small truck.
Even the gardeners in Monaco are good looking. Sigh...

Monte Carlo Gentleman - 5
The photographer photographed. He's standing outside Moods, a great new music bar at the back of the Cafe de Paris - where he'll be videoing, I believe. Tomorrow I'll show you more - no ladies, not of this gorgeous creature, but Moods.
