Jilly Jackson and Nina Papa at Cap Jazz
Another photo from stunning Jilly Jackson's fabulous evening at Cap Jazz. Jilly and her group, 'So Close' closed the festival. Here she and beautiful Brazilian singer, Nina Papa, who performed earlier, close the show to rapturous applause. A super evening.

Jilly Jackson at Cap Jazz, Cap d'Ail
Jilly Jackson, Gorbio's fabulous 'diva' sang with her trio, So Close' at 'Cap Jazz' two nights ago. In fact, she closed the Cap d'Ail festival.
Jilly was, as always, sensational! Thanks Jilly!

'De l'Inutile a l'essentiel.'
Last night there was a large crowd for the vernissage in Cap d'Ail of Maxime Peregrini's and Barbara Lecomte's beautiful book 'De l'Inutile a l'essentiel.'
Each page of the book and each display in this exhibition features one of Maxime's photos from New York City and one of Barbara's from India. Each duo of photos displaying so beautifully the differences and the similarities in each culture.
Bravo to Maxime and Barbara - beautiful work!
The exhibition continues until the 22nd July at the Chateau des Terrasses at Cap d'Ail, just along the coast from Monaco.

Mulberries
We're in Cap d'Ail today at the Pointe des Douaniers. The restaurant, Le Cabanon, is behind us, the car park off to the right - Monaco is to our left. I think these are mulberry trees - they form a wonderful horizontal canopy of shade in summer. I'm not sure of the name though - perhaps someone knows?

Spring!
This is the promenade between Fontvieille and Cap d'Ail - the port of Cap d'Ail is to the right.

Fontvieille from Cap d'Ail
We're in Cap d'Ail this morning looking towards Monaco and the heliport. On our left is the Port of Cap d'Ail. Ahead is Fontvieille and one of the luxury apartment buildings and behind it you can see the top of the Oceanographic Museum.
The low white building is temporary - the circus is on and this is where the elephants sleep at night.
And in the distance, snow on the Alps.

People Watching ...
I was on a boat watching her. She was on another boat watching someone else ...
It's what we love to do on the Côte d'Azur and Monaco - people watch! But then doesn't everyone everywhere?
This was taken at Plage Mala, Cap d'Ail.

Plage Mala - Walking on Water
The small beach at Plage Mala is surrounded by these beautiful rocks. Just the place to do some Stand Up Paddle Boarding which seems to be the rage at the moment.
We'll see how this works tomorrow ...

Plage Mala - Rounding Cap Mala
Let's go to another beach for a change. Today, we are just along the coast at Cap d'Ail. In fact Cap d'Ail adjoins Monaco so really it's no distance.
We're on a boat and we've rounded the headland, Cap Mala. This leads into the beautiful bay of Plage Mala. Looking at this photo, Monaco is off to our left.
There's a beautiful coastal footpath and you can see people walking on it. You can also see someone hanging from a tree! And note those big fat pillars at the point of the headland. This is part of a famous villa 'Les Roches' which we'll see another day.
Hope you've got your swimming gear with you ...

Jardin Exotique - the Football Stadium
Taken from the Jardin Exotique, this is Monaco's football stadium - home of AS Monaco. Notice all those roof gardens. We'll zoom in on some another day.
The tall buildings to the left of the photograph are on the eastern border of Monaco, in Fontvieille. The other side of those apartments, you see the harbour of Cap d'Ail, which of course is in France.

Parc Sacha Guitry - 2
Parc Sacha Guitry is a beautiful and peaceful park in Cap d'Ail - the town bordering Monaco - with its many stunning Belle Epoque buildings and wondrous views. It's a place too with a real village/community feel to it.
